What’s the first thing your friends and family ask you for when they come to visit, knowing your network is active? The Wi-Fi password.Next time you visit, ohh shit it just slipped your memory. Trying to remember the Wi-Fi password and looking for that piece of paper you scrawled it on. Well, Apple looks like they will be making sharing of your local network password a whole lot easier only for Apple related products.
According to Business Insider, the new feature in iOS 11 works seamlessly and is simple to use. It kind of reminds me of AirDrop which allows you to share files and photos with other iPhones, iPads, and Macs in the vicinity. Pretty much the only thing you need to do is hold your iPhone or iPad up to the other device that requires the password and it will instantly transfer the password to that other device. The original device must have the password for that network already in memory and that’s presumably the device owned by the owner of the network. Both devices also need to be unlocked in order for the feature to work.

iOS 11 is in developer preview right now and the public beta will be available soon. As with any preview or beta, you should know that not everything is guaranteed to work and you take a risk running such software.
